This scholarship is for daughters and sons of active or retired Teamster members who have at least twelve months of consecutive membership in good standing. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college, university, trade, or business school. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit their SAT/ACT scores and an essay on how unions can motivate youth and women to become involved in the union movement.
Applications require an official copy of the college transcript, two letters of recommendation including one from a supervisor at current employer, a 200-word essay on why you should be selected as a recipient of the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women, and a copy of your employer’s tuition reimbursement policy. Because the scholarship is merit-based, the applicant must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, or a 4.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 5.0.
