Focus Question: How would you describe the essence of a popular subculture, how the core values and beliefs are reflected through their shared artifacts, elements, and activities?
We often overlook other subcultures in our own society other than the one we belong to, and this often occurs when we are thinking about our own culture. This essay allows me to rethink the fact that there is always interrelationship between the typical culture and all the other subcultures. And they are affecting and shaping one another and give rise to the “typical” cultures that we observe today.

This essay gives us an insight into the major comparison between the Swedish bohemian subculture and the typical culture of Sweden. There is a fair comparison between them in terms of the four aspects, which are beliefs, values, norms and social beliefs. However, I do believe that it would be better if the author provides more concrete examples to support the abovementioned aspects, for example how their daily behaviors reflect that they place the importance on humanistic view, freedom, artistry and creativity, etc. If these examples are included in the essay, the content and the idea will be clearer and more fruitful.
